Empowering Colombian Leaders
Making things happen
At GCB, our motto is “Empowering Colombian Leaders”. This is why our students carry out two political activities, taking advantage of the opportunity presented by the new government standards for Democratic Culture and the Training in Citizen Competencies.
We take part in the organisation of the School Government as the first political exercise which is made up of representatives of the various parties involved in the educational community, in which the Council and the Student Representative play an important role. These groups comprise students from grades 3 to 11.
The second political exercise is related to the organisation, realisation and participation in the Model of the United Nations (MUN) which involves improving citizenship skills and working towards peace through role play, a life experience that strengthens the qualities of leadership and the interdisciplinary vision of the current world. Students from 4th to 11th grade take part in this project.
We have been developing this project since 2004, and in 2019, due the recognised quality of the GCB Model of the United Nations (MUN), we were invited to participate in the Harvard University MUN.
